GRANT INFORMATION
The grantmaking of the Hyde Family Foundations is directed primarily to initiatives that support efforts to improve the quality of life in Memphis and enhance prosperity for all its citizens. We are interested in promoting improved educational opportunities for children and their families, encouraging and empowering new community leadership, and reinforcing a vision of Memphis as a progressive city. We are especially interested in helping stimulate innovation in systems that directly affect the lives of Memphians and impact our community's current well-being and future vitality. We seek to leverage our resources whenever possible, working with both public and private partners.

The Hyde Family Foundations are a pair of philanthropic funds created by members of the Hyde family over a 47-year period, beginning with an initial $1 million investment by Joseph Hyde, Sr. in 1961. Today the assets of the Hyde Family Foundations total $145 million and in 2007 approximately $12 million was granted to groups dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Memphis area.
